What's the buzz about Gore not deserving the Nobel Prize? Of COURSE
he deserves it. Why, that institution has a proud tradition of

While I disagree with your religious outlook, I join you
wholeheartedly in supporting conservative positions in the political realm. I also want to
thank you for any and all help in the political arena that you are able to
render. I was going to say "God Bless You", but then I thought about it and I
will just say bless you.
I believe the link was from ReligiousLib who was giving a link to your site as
evidence that not all conservatives are "Christian" or even religious. I got
the impression that he thought he was putting down the "religious right" by
intimating they are so stupid that they think all conservatives are religious. I
know that's not true and I also know that there are homosexuals who are
conservative and are against same sex marriage, which seems to be an odd stance for
them to take, but I heard from some on the blogs and that's the stand they take.
I don't agree with their lifestyle, but unless they are trying to force it into
the mainstream, I will stand with them as a conservative.
Again, thank you for your efforts to support a conservative point of view in
this secularist, humanist, socialist headed nation. At least you are a sane
rational being, unlike the emotional irrational beings in the liberal camp.

I'm a Christian who has no problem with evolution (why worship a God
who's incapable of creating by use of the natural laws he himself has created?)
or homosexuality (if it's a private matter, same as hetero), conservative (my
website title is "Stamp out separation of C. & S.)" and on the abortion issue
have always been somewhat ambivlilent. But my opinion is rapidly forming with
the thought of humans (who cares whether they're called fetuses or babies?) being
torn limb from limb, alive?
What bothers me is the Christians trying their best to make it an exclusively
religious issue - re the pro-life letters to the editor ending with the
requisite Bible verse or two. "We'll have to convert you to our beliefs and THEN you'll
support us in this battle." And abortion doesn't even have the usual
supernatural or hidden trappings of religious belief.

I agree that arguing against abortion from an entirely religious perspective suffers from an inherent weakness. Such arguments require one to hold specific theological views prior to accepting the pro-life position. Individuals like me who hold no religious beliefs are likely to discount religious premises or to reject them summarily. The strength of my pro-life/anti-abortion position is that I argue from scientific and ethical perspectives which are rooted in my materialism and humanism. These same perspectives led me to found the Atheist and Agnostic Pro-Life League.
